The Day in Sutton Nebraska was beautiful for the First Chiari Walk on Saturday September 26th 2009 at 1:00.  We had a good turn out of about 50 plus people at the walk. We had some great sponsors this year and we are looking forward to next year.  We had hot dogs, 4 different fountain pop, snow cones, water we had a bounce house, activity table for children, face painting, tattoos and we also had Mickey, Pooh, and Tigger at the walk.  I choose to have some one from the walk talk about chiari and announce everything to get others involved. We gave out tickets to everyone who showed up to the walk for a free drawing of prizes that were donated that we did after we walked. We had a young girl trinety casper from Henderson Nebraska sing the national anthem and my son Riley(3years old) who has Chiari was going to cut the Purple ribbon after the count down but he was sick throwing up all over me his mommy so Dad did it.  Then we were off around the track some walked once and some walked 4 times we had the newspaper there and Nebraska Football and Volleyball. It was a great day for a walk and we are excited about the turnout we had people drive at least 2 hours or more to get to the walk.  I am happy to say I want to do it again next year and am going to make it bigger and better every year and have spoken with many at the walk to help next year and we are going to stay in contact and keep discussing out next years plan for the 2nd Chiari walk in Nebraska .

Thank you
Jody Friesen
