Long Branch, NJ

As the sun broke it started out as a beautiful day. I knew that today all Chiarians in NJ will be coming together to share one thing. Raise awareness!! Last year in NJ we had just over 100 walkers and raised almost $7000. This year I had a strong feeling because of the support group I am a part of was going to help out. It was a picture perfect morning and at 9AM people were starting to arrive.

This year we had a lot of activities for the kids and adults. We had a DJ, food, a magician, a face painter, and more. We had over 200 walkers participate and raised a lot more than last year in NJ. Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon presented NJ with the proclamation to have September be Chiari awareness month. I love being a part of something as special as this. I hope that next year we can double the numbers again. I had a great time working with the other site organizers across the country and the other (21) Chiarians that I met. I wish everyone Pain Free Days ahead and I look forward to next year.
