September 30, 2008 --

Here in NC we didn't have the numbers that ya'll had, I think we had about 40 walkers. For a county of less than 10,000 we had some pretty tough competition today, the local hospital was doing a benefit run, the school had a car show, 4H club and the Junior EMS all had fundraisers going on today. So I am OK with the turnout. I got to meet and talk with three others who have Chiari and really learned a lot. The county commissioner came out and welcomed everyone and so did the sheriff. Also 5 of the local restaurants got together and provided a brunch afterward. I have lots of ideas for next year and some of the women that came in from other areas want to help get the word out where they live in too.

The 4 people holding the banner are the Chiarians the little girl was just decompressed 6 weeks ago and she did the whole 3.5 mile walk after riding for 3 hours to get here!!

I am tired but sad to see it over. It's been lots of fun.
