March 31, 2008 --

On March 22nd, more than 25 people braved the cold Kansas morning to participate in the first annual Chiari Walk in Wichita.  In addition to raising awareness, the walk raised more than $1,500 for research!!

But perhaps the best part is that local Chiari people got a chance to meet and are starting to form a group.  Plus, several of the participants have already started talking about next year's walk and how to make it even bigger.

A special thanks to Sharon Coldiron for organizing the event.  Sharon got an article in the local paper about the walk and also managed to get an Awareness Resolution passed in Kansas!  Way to go Sharon!

This is a great example of what one person can accomplish and also how it can get other involved.  I have no doubt that the Kansas Walk will grow over time to become a major event.
