I am proud to announce that Christopher J. Hughes, PT, PhD, OCS, CSCS, Professor of Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University, has agreed to join the Conquer Chiari team as a Scientific Advisor.  Dr. Hughes is actively engaged in the practice of physical therapy at an outpatient orthopedic practice where he primarily treats patients with shoulder and knee injuries. He has also published research and served as a manuscript reviewer for the Physical Therapy Journal, Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Clinics of North America, Journal of Athletic Training, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has served on the advisory panel on research for the association.  He currently is Editor of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice Magazine which is the official publication of the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as well as Editor for PT Report a national newsletter published by WPI Communications, Springfield NJ.

I have personally worked with Dr. Hughes in my own rehab efforts and believe his broad academic knowledge, in combination with his depth of practical experience, and extensive knowledge of the mechanics of the human body, will serve us well in an area which to date has received very little attention

In becoming a Scientific Advisor, Dr. Hughes joins a diverse team of experts dedicated to helping us with our mission.
