When our daughter-in-law (a jillion miles away from us on an island off Washington as we sit down here in Key West) was Dx'd last week, my husband and I - both paramedics - devoured your site. In particular, Sue Martin's elegant sharing of her experiences and her feelings about others' reactions to her illness was tremendously helpful and somehow reassuring. She should never again suggest that she is not significantly contributing to her world; perhaps her time to be a teacher is more important than ever.
