Like many people, I've never gotten completely
comfortable being in an MRI machine. In fact, during one routine
syrinx check, a panic attack hit me.
"The test is taking too long...my hands are going
numb...the technician has forgotten me!" I thought as worst-case scenarios
crowded into my head.
I was ready to snatch the strap off my neck and
pull myself out, so I tried to calm myself by reciting the 23rd Psalm.
Unfortunately, the words wouldn't come.
Then, in the midst of my panic, I clearly heard
the voice of God giving me a choice.
"Kathleen, do you know those lottery tickets you
have? Would you rather have your head healed or win the lottery and be
rich?"
I calmed myself and responded, "You know, God, I
could quit my job, go on a long vacation, and maybe de-stress the headaches
away."
Just then, the MRI machine went off like a game
show buzzer - ANNNTT! Wrong answer!
The moral of the story...don't take too long to
give the right answer in the Chiari God quiz show.
