The Conquer Chiari Research Center (CCRC) at the University of Akron (UA) is dedicated solely to advancing the medical and scientific understanding of Chiari malformation in order to improve the experiences and outcomes of patients. It is a state of the art facility, staffed with distinguished researchers, working diligently to:
|Apply the latest engineering techniques and analyses to improve diagnoses and treatment options|
|Leverage the Conquer Chiari Patient Registry to study the epidemiology and natural history of Chiari|
|Foster collaborations with leading clinicians and scientists to advance the Conquer Chiari Research Agenda|
|Act as a focal point for the Chiari research community and attract more researchers to the study of Chiari|

- Reduce the average time to an accurate diagnosis to less than 2 years from time of first symptoms.
- Develop an effective, widely adopted, and minimally traumatic standard of care.
- Minimize the impact that Chiari has on the quality of life of patients.
- Understand the pathophysiology, natural history, and epidemiological characteristics of Chiari.
